CRITERIA FOR STAYING AT
GRACE HOUSE UK
18 and over – There is no upper age limit providing any additional needs can be accommodated
On release from prison or on Home Detention Curfew – We’re able to offer you a place if you’re on TAG if approved by probation
Showing dedication to change - Grace House exists to help those who want to work to better their lives
Willing to engage with all support - Our goal is to offer you help and tools needed
Willing to stay at Grace House for at least 4 months - To gain the most from your stay at Grace House you need to agree to stay for this length of time
Able to pay rent - We will help you with applications for the benefits you are entitled to, including Housing Benefit
Who have not shown aggressive behaviour in the last 4 months - We want Grace House to be a place where everyone feels safe and respected, abuse of any kind is not acceptable
Willing to maintain an abstinent lifestyle from substance misuse - support will be available for those with addictions but the house will be kept free from drugs and alcohol
Willing to follow the guiding principles set out in the “Residents Handbook”– These are our guidelines for living at Grace House.
HOW TO APPLY TO STAY AT
GRACE HOUSE UK
There is an Application Form to fill in which you can find in your OMU/Resettlement department.
Our staff will talk through the application with the applicant’s OMU/Resettlement department
Grace House staff will visit the prison to meet with you and discuss your application
Grace House staff will make a decision on your application. We will get back to the prison with a ‘yes’ or a ‘no’ as soon as we can.
If your release date changes for any reason ID Grace House UK must be informed as soon as possible to see if we have a room free for the new date.
On the day of release:
We will arrange for one of our volunteers to pick you up from prison to bring you to Grace House.
A staff member will meet you when you arrive to welcome you to the house.
